The second drug, Synthroid (TU-2), is an injectable drug used to treat hypothyroidism in adults. It is also approved for the treatment of other conditions.

The FDA has approved a generic version of Levothyroxine (TU-2) to treat hypothyroidism in adults. The generic version was approved by the FDA in 2001.

Synthroid was approved by the FDA as an oral medication for the treatment of hypothyroidism in adults and children ages 5 to 17.
